In a thrilling finals concert of the highest standard, held at Grange Victoria Hall, Myrna Tennant (soprano) won the Reg Griffiths Trophy and the winner’s cheque of £1000.

All four finalists gave memorable performances which gave the panel, Jolyon Dodgson (chairman), Anthony Hewitt (Award President) and Alexa Wightman the most difficult of decisions. Jack Horrocks (clarinet), Amy Shaw (mezzo) and Jess Wood (percussion) all took away runners-up cheques of £250.

Thanks to all the judges and competitors and to Taneli Clarke (percussion), 2014 Keldwyth Award winner, who returned to play and to tell of us of his past year’s exploits. We hope Jess and Jack will be back to compete next year and we wish Amy, who has graced our Award Concerts on many occasions with her lovely singing, well in her future career.
