Ulverston based former Keldwyth winner Amy Metcalfe returned to Cumbria after gaining her degree from the Welsh College of Music and Drama. Whilst there she studied piano with Andrew Ball and Gwendolyn Mok and acquired a wide range of performance experience. Accompanying has always been a source of enjoyment for Amy and it was in this capacity that she met future husband and clarinettist, Richard Bagnell.
Amy currently works as a freelance music teacher and accompanist, working with pupils preparing for GCSE, A Level, ABRSM exam grades and much more besides.In 1997 Amy helped to set up The Full Octave Music Shop in Dalton with her parents and husband. Work time is also spent here when circumstances allow.For musical relaxation Amy is flautist with Wooden Leg Ceilidh Band.
Amy is married with two children, Ben and Erin. If you look carefully enough in and around Ulverston, you may see the family cycling together, one of their favourite pastimes.
